Tea Pixie writes her way around the world drinking tea, eating scones, walking, riding, and painting. I. Love. Travel. I. Love. Life.

My Beautiful Art

You have just entered the Pixie-Atelier, my tiny corner of the world where I paint the beauty that I am fortunate to see. I am writing here so that you can see some of my art. If you click through on the links provided, you will be able to look at other artworks that I have created. I am excited to be showing you my works.

Like my writing, I have been painting since before the turn of the century. I absolutely love to create and painting is a form of art that fits quite nicely into my pixie space, hence, the Pixie-Atelier. While scribbling is how I have traditionally earned a wage, I am venturing forward with my artwork. My hope is to develop my artwork to a place where I am publishing coffee-table books for people to enjoy for days on end; books that can be passed on to loved ones as part of a legacy. ;) Those are my hopes.

So, please enjoy yourself while perusing through my work and follow the links to learn about how my work has been judged. I have a combination of paintings and photography on this site, most of it inspired by travel.

All images and writing are copyrighted by me, Teapixie! :)

This is an extremely special painting that I have done for a dear friend. She received a copy of this painting from her Mom that was ruined in a flood. After her dear Mom passed away, the painting became even more valuable to her.

In this acrylic painting, it is early morning and the sun is just starting to spread its illuminating light across the fields. The pixies have finished their parties and are sleeping in the shadows. The olive tree was so much fun to paint.

Can you see where the pixies are hiding in this acrylic version of a typical Capability Brown landscape? Capability Brown was an 18th century designer of gardens in England and he was famous for creating water features.

Beautiful Frames

I love to hang my paintings with the most beautiful frames I can find. I really believe that the frame can increase the value and beauty of the presentation of an image.

I have chosen intaglio as the design concept for these frames because this design involves engraving, carving, or cutting into the surface of an item which results in a more elaborate frame.

My Work

I love to paint. I have recently ventured into more abstract works. I have an interest in creating artwork for show homes but am only a hobby artist, at this point.

I am inspired by the beauty I discover while exploring the world. Every time I travel I am surprised by the incredible natural beauty that exists in the most unexpected places. Deep in the forests of Kaua'i I have found incredible orchids. In the streets of Silver City, New Mexico I have discovered plants eking out their existence between slabs of sidewalk cement. In Tiwi, Kenya, I have seen millipedes by the hundreds as they coated the warm walkways as the sun was setting. Oh yes - there is beauty everywhere and my challenge is to find ways to present this beauty to you through art.

I would really, really love to read your thoughts about my work. Please take a moment and scribble me a few of your thoughts on the pieces you have seen here. Thank you SO MUCH!
